How to create your first project on GitScrum

First of all, it is important to explain what this platform is, GitScrum is a project management platform, which allows you to create, develop and track projects whether it is developed by one person or by a large and collaborative team. The tool allows for simultaneous work to be performed by different team members.

Imagine the following situation: your team consists of 4 people, each of them has a different function and that together they form the complete work, tracking the progress of each member, without an appropriate tool, is not easy at all. But then came the GitScrum to simplify this situation, with it you can divide the tasks into ”blocks” for each of the members, so each one knows exactly what they should do, when, and how they should deliver.

With the GitScrum tool you get agility, your team becomes more efficient because all tasks are clear. It is great in any situation, but especially in the organization of Home Office work. Through it, you can not only track the progress of the work but also the time your team stays working. In addition, the tool has a “ranking” mechanism; the members who produce the most are recognized by the tool itself.  You can open discussion groups regarding the project, create mind maps and flowcharts, in short, it is the most complete platform you could ever want.

One of the main characteristics of this tool is that it is very intuitive and easy to use. It was created to make life easier and to make the execution of projects more efficient and agile, therefore all the mechanisms that exist in it were designed for the best use of time by all team members.

What is the workspace?

As soon as you register on the platform you get a ”Workspace” which is the environment within the platform where you can create the project.

Project Creation

1. In your workspace you will see the following message ”there is no project in your workspace yet” and then right below you will see ”create a project”, click and start creating.

2. As soon as you click to start creating 6 project type options appear for you:

Full: all functionality is available in this option, it serves mainly in the case of larger projects.

Minimum: only task planning is available, it’s useful for smaller teams that don’t need to use all the tools.

Knowledge Base: this is a project form focused on documentation, the main tools available are wiki, discussion, and documents.

Scrum: this project option is for that team that wants to follow the scrum methodology to the letter, using the correct sprint, user story, and time that each one stays active and doing their job.

Task Tracking: Form of the project for those who need to focus only on the tasks that must be done, ideal for those who provide freelance services to not get lost.

Gamification: in this case the ranking appears as a different way to boost the team’s work, the platform itself ranks those who are producing more, and you can even assign points in each of the activities, and those who produce more points win

3. Have you chosen the best option? Perfect! Now you need to give your project a name, it can be the name of the company, the team, or any other name you want.

How to organize

Now that the project is created you have access to the board, which is the first feature and serves to divide the work into columns, in each of the columns you can add tasks.

Columns

The columns that are available on the board inside the platform serve to organize the work to be done, as soon as you start the project GitScrum offers a template in which these columns are divided into 4

Ready to do: where all the tasks of the day, week or month are placed

In progress: those that are already being done

Done: everything that is already done

Archived: what has already been finished and archived.

But although the platform provides this workflow you can change the names and create new columns (as many as necessary).

Tasks

Still, within the platform it is possible to create a complete workflow to add the tasks, these tasks have a description of what needs to be done, there is still the option to assign this task to a certain member, on it you and all members can make comments, attach files and break them down into subtasks.

Adding members

Your project is created and configured and the time has come to invite the team members, and for that, in the board on the upper right side there is the option “invitation”, by clicking there you will find two options: the first is the one where the platform generates a link, you send it to all the members, they click, create an account and are inside the project. And the second is that you add them via email, both ways members can join and participate.

Welcome

Congratulations, following these steps your project is created, configured and all members are already inside the platform, now all you have to do is start producing!

GitScrum the platform that will speed up your work, make your team more efficient, and take your company to another level!
